Walmart Partners with Shopify to Dominate Ecommerce Industry


Shopify sellers now can sell directly on Walmart marketplace.

In an announcement on Monday, 15 June 2020, Walmart revealed the partnership agreement with one of the leading ecommerce platform Shopify. According to the agreement, 1200 Shopify sellers will have access to Walmart marketplace this year.

Over 1 million small businesses are currently running on the Shopify platform.

The deal is a win-win situation for both as the Shopify sellers can access 120 million monthly Walmart marketplace visitor and also Walmart can cash in the sales surge of Shopify post coronavirus outbreak.

Online retail sales have gained a massive boost after the lockdown implemented globally, so the timing of collaboration could not be better.

Walmart has been inviting Shopify seller to integrate Walmart marketplace to thier ecommerce storefront from Shopify App store. The seller has to wait for the review and after approval, the Shopify seller can add unlimited products to Walmart marketplace.

The Shopify seller will be able to make changes in product images, description and inventory within the Shopify dashboard. Those changes will automatically update in the Walmart listing.

This is the first tiny step of Walmart to challenge the ecommerce autocrat – Amazon – in the race of dominating the ecommerce industry.

How to Integrate Walmart Store in Shopify Dashboard:

Now, any Shopify seller can easily integrate Walmart marketplace with thier Shopify store.

Just go to Shopify and click on “+” sign on the sales channel.

Sales Channel window will open, scroll down and click “Visit Shopify App Store.”

Search Walmart and click “Add App” to integrate it with your Shopify store.

Comeback to your Shopify dashboard and click add sales channels.

That’s it. Now, you can list product in Walmart marketplace from your Shopify store.

You just need to login or register on Walmart Marketplace to start selling with Shopify.
