Shopify t-shirt printing services or Print on Demand (POD) services are all the talk right now in the dropshipping sector.

Print-on-Demand services let you sell custom printed t-shirts, mugs, phone covers, yoga mats, and much more without having to keep any stock at all.

The service fulfills and ships all the orders. All you have to do is upload your custom designs and make a sale.

Newcomers to the dropship business model want to know which POD apps are the best, so that they can get started with their own POD store.

Well, we are here to help you out. We have already written and compared some of the best POD apps for Shopify.

Today, we are going to review a popular POD app, “Teelaunch”. Let’s get start!

How to Build a POD Store with Teelaunch

Using Teelaunch is quite simple and straightforward. First of all, let’s learn how we can set-up our own POD store on Shopify with Teelaunch.

From your Shopify dashboard, click Apps in the left sidebar. Head over to the Shopify app store and search for Teelaunch.

Click Get and Install the app. Now, you will see Teelaunch available in the Apps section of your Shopify Dashboard.

Click the Account button in the top-right corner and enter your contact and payment details. You can also enter the shipping label details, any special messages for customers, and the packaging logo to brand your orders.

Creating an account with Teelaunch activates automatic order processing on your store. So, you don’t have to manually do it every time.

You are now ready to select your first t-shirt or any other custom printed product and start selling it on your store.

Teelaunch can also be integrated with Etsy, should you choose to sell there.

How to Use Teelaunch

Using Teelaunch is fairly simple and doesn’t require any extensive technical knowledge. If you know your way around social media profiles then Teelaunch shouldn’t be hard to navigate either.

We will guide you through the process, help create your first product (t-shirt for example), customize it, and put it up for sale on your store.

Creating Your POD T-Shirt with Teelaunch

From your Shopify Dashboard, go to Apps > Teelaunch. In the top-right corner, Click the New Product button.

You will get the option to create any custom product. You can create custom t-shirts, mugs, home items, phone covers, and many other items.

Choose your preferred item (for this example, we choose American Apparel Mens tee-shirt). Select the product and hit Start Designing.

Now, it’s time to design your t-shirt print. Upload a custom logo, artwork, or image that you want as a print on the shirt.

You can customize the colors, sizes, logo placement directly from here. A sample image of the t-shirt with your design will be available to give you an idea about how it would look on different colors, etc.

If you don’t already have a Teelaunch account then it will ask you to create one on this page. It will only take a minute to create one.

Once you are done customizing your t-shirt, hit Publish to your Store and the shirt is live and ready to sell.

You can do this for more t-shirts, different designs, custom mugs, mats, and other items that are available on Teelaunch.

How Pricing and Shipping Works on Teelaunch

The pricing model is very easy to understand on teelaunch. For example, an American Apparel Tee shirt with your custom design costs $14 + $4 for American or $10 for International shipping.

You can charge $20 for a t-shirt which means you make a profit of $2 on each shirt ($20 – $14+$4 = $2). That’s just an example, your profit varies with different products.

There are no subscription fees or any other hidden fees at all. You only pay a commission when you make a sale.

The order will be printed, fulfilled/packaged, and shipped directly by Teelaunch and all you have to do is make the sale.

When a customer places an order on your store, the app automatically processes it and creates a fulfillment order in the teelaunch system.

These orders can be tracked and updated from your Shopify store directly. Shipment tracking numbers are available in your Orders dashboard and the shipping status is updated. Shopify’s automated notification system sends all the shipping updates directly to your customers.

You can also provide your own logo that can be used on the packing slip to strengthen your brand visibility.

Teelaunch Shipping Costs

The shipping costs vary depending on the product. These can be anything from $2 to $10 for US shipping and $2 to $20 for International.

For a detailed information about the shipping costs on each Teelaunch product, check out this pricing sheet.

How to offer free shipping on Teelaunch

People often want to offer free shipping for some orders. If you want to setup a rate at which the shipping is free then you can easily do so from Shopify dashboard.

For example, if you want to offer free shipping for orders above $99 then here’s how you can do it.

From Shopify Dashboard, go to Settings > Shipping > Zones & Rates. Now, click Edit in front of Domestic and International shipping.

Find Price Based Rate and click Add Rate. Now, you can set up minimum / maximum ordering costs. Check the Free shipping rate box. Click Done to save these pricings.

Every order that meets or exceeds the minimum order amount will be eligible for free shipping.

How to order a Sample Print from Teelaunch

No matter how good the reviews are, but the real trust comes from when you actually touch and feel the product for yourself.

Teelaunch offers samples at a 50% discounted rate for store owners. This way you can test your mock-ups and see how they look, feel, and fit in real life.

In order to get a sample, you must email customer service and tell them that you are making a sample order.

Once done and the order has been placed, provide them with the name on the order along with the order number.

Once the order is successfully placed and you have been charged, Teelaunch will issue a 50% refund on the sample order.

You are supposed to pay for shipping on all sample orders. Samples must be mailed directly to the store owner. You can not order more than one sample in the same style.

Teelaunch Vs. Printful

Printful is another popular POD services on Shopify. However, Teelaunch itself has garnered a lot of attention from store owners and currently serve more than 41,000 clients.

Below are a few points on which we have compared Teelaunch to Printful.

Printful definitely takes an edge over Teelaunch in a head-to-head comparison. However, Teelaunch offers much more competitive profit margins, so you can make more money on each order.

This gives you the opportunity to spend more on promotion and marketing, and investing back more into your business to grow quickly.
